|
Event Description Written by American playwright John Guare, The House of Blue Leaves is a dark comedy about long-suffering zookeeper Artie Shaugnessy who dreams of being a famous songwriter. Unfortunately, his songs aren’t very good and his life is just as bad. Enter Artie’s old school friend and successful Hollywood producer Billy Einhorn, who could hold the key to Artie’s dreams becoming reality. But like so many dreams, this promise of glory evaporates amidst the chaos of ordinary lives. House of Blue Leaves won the 1971 Critics Award and the Obie Award for best American play. The House of Blue Leaves contains mature themes and/or language that some patrons may find objectionable. |
